I am very excited about the launch of several teaching opportunities.
Liz Kettle and I are working together on a year long Art Quilt Workshop concept. This series of workshops is designed to help you explore the world of art in fabric and stitch. The first class is on February 10th – 1 pm – 5 pm. Take one class or take them all. Classes do not need to be taken in order. Each month we will explore an exciting range of art design and composition basics, fabric embellishing techniques, work with specialty threads, mixed media techniques and more. Detailed information can be found on our class page at http://www.textileevolution.com. Each listing on the calendar outlines what will be taught at that specific session.
Also, I am teaching a bag class (see photo) on February 10th at 9 am. You will make an envelope bag learning deconstructed crazy quilting from the book – Fabric Embellishing: The Basics and Beyond (instructions found on pages 28 – 29). Liz and I are co-authors. The base of the bag will be multi-purpose cloth decorated with your scraps of silk, hand dyes and all the bits you have been saving.
Finally, Liz and I are offering open studio time. Bring your unfinished projects and we will assist, troubleshoot and even rip seams for you. Open studios are offered each month so check the calendar for dates and times.
